There is something undeniably glamorous, louche and sexy about a dark room, an atmosphere that is instantly conjured by choosing the seductive cave, After all, it’s no accident that nightclubs are habitually decorated int he darkest shades; the eye has to work harder to discover the details hidden in the shadows; a pale face, a glittering dress, a scarlet lip. Dark is mysterious but intimate. Darkness turns us in on ourselves, shutting out the world; it calms, it soothes, it envelopes us in its shadowy embrace.
